SXSW 2011: Dread Central and Lost Zombies Present “Zombies Must Eat” Panel

Dread Central readers, it’s hard to put into words just how amazing and inspiring it has been for this writer to be on hand for the South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas, over the last several days. It’s been exhausting, challenging, and ultimately one of the best experiences I’ve ever had as a reporter.

So, while I’m busy putting together an insane amount of video coverage from SXSW with our video producer, Brian Smith, we thought we’d give you a look at something cool Dread Central was able to be a part of at the fest.

This past Saturday, March 12, DC Business Manager and Co-Founder KW Low hosted the panel “Zombies Must Eat: How Genre Communities Make Money” alongside Skot Leach, Co-Founder of LostZombies.com, and yours truly, who was filling in for a very ill Drew Daywalt (who we’re happy to report is feeling much better now!); and while I am nowhere nearly as qualified to be on a prestigious SXSW panel as Daywalt is, I was honored and thrilled (and admittedly quite nervous) to be asked to participate.

Enjoy the video coverage we put together of the panel below, and look for a gaggle of SXSW coverage coming to you over the coming days, including interviews with the creative forces behind Insidious, Source Code, Attack the Block, Super, The Catechism Cataclysm, Detention, My Sucky Teen Romance, Bellflower, and many others! Visit the official SXSW website for more info.
