Marvel is adapting the Zombies Assemble manga into English for the very first time, and on tap today we have a look at several of the variant covers created for the release along with a sneak peek of Issue #1!

The undead are invading the Marvel Universe in ZOMBIES ASSEMBLE – the new series coming Stateside this May. Adapted from the best-selling Avengers: Zombies Assemble manga by Yusaku Komiyama (Ixion Saga), fan-favorite writer Jim Zub (Thunderbolts) is set to bring this high octane thrill ride to English-speaking audiences – presented in the original black and white.
But that’s not all! This upcoming adaptation is set to feature variant covers by a horde of superstar artists including Greg Horn, David Nakayama, Greg Land, Nic Klein, and even Tony Moore (The Walking Dead) – just to name a few!
“The original manga was a huge hit when it was originally released in Japan,” says Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel. “It is very exciting to be able to bring this story to an entirely new audience that may never have gotten to experience it otherwise.”
Time and again, the Avengers have assembled to save the Earth from destruction. But they’ve never had to face down a threat as gruesome and terrifying as an endless horde of the undead! Now, with their backs against the wall, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes must fight to contain an outbreak of horrifying zombies, while preventing the infection from spreading any further. Is all hope lost?
Only one thing is for certain… not all of the Avengers will escape uninfected!
