Writer/director Alexander McNeill is certainly a talent on the rise. His short film The Parting Glass, produced in conjunction with the folks at Arts University Bournemouth, explores the Irish mourning process. And from the looks of the trailer you see nestled down below, McNeill packs the flick with an abundance of atmosphere. Here’s hoping this one finds its way online in the near future.

Here’s what the flick is all about:

Ireland, 1892. After the death of his malicious father, Frank, John believes he and his mother, Catherine, can leave their rural cottage for a happier life. However, as Catherine begins talking to Frank’s body during the night, John begins to question his mother’s sanity.

Until The Parting Glass hits the festival circuit or Alexander McNeill decides to share his short film with the world, we’ll have to settle for this very cool trailer. Check it out below.
