David Hackl Attached to Direct The Butcher Bride AdaptationAfter being unceremoniously booted off of Saw VII 3D to make room for Saw VI‘s returning champ Kevin Greutert, Saw V director David Hackl had a lot of time on his hands. But now all that’s about to change since he’s signed on to help adapt The Butcher Bride, Vince Churchill’s sexual, supernatural roller coaster ride of a novel.

According to Production Weekly on Twitter Hackl is attached to direct screenwriter/producer JR Reher’s adaptation of the horror tome. Per Amazon here’s the book’s synopsis:

Thirty years ago a depraved assault during a Halloween costume ball shattered a young woman’s mind, turning her into a brutal mass murderer. Dressed in her rival’s blood-soaked wedding gown, the legend of the Butcher Bride was born. Now, decades later, everyone who enters the Silas Mansion will encounter a frightening spirit ravenous to satisfy perverse appetites. Death is the only escape. Here comes The Bride…

This one sounds pretty promising. Keep it here for more as casting news, etc., starts trickling in over the coming weeks.
