Teens on a Train Bound for Terror

Teens on a Train Bound for TerrorAlfred Hitchcock was one of the single most prolific filmmakers of modern times, and his masterpiece Strangers on a Train is yet another shining example of the man at his finest. He’s been often imitated but never duplicated, but that hasn’t stopped Hollyweird from trying!

According to Deadline London Slingshot Productions and BBC Films are co-developing a teen thriller partly inspired by Hitchcock’s film tentatively titled Teens on a Train. Yes, you read that right. Teens on a Train.

Joshua St. Johnston, creator of BBC fashion drama “Material Girl,” is the writer. The project takes Patricia Highsmith’s novel, filmed by Hitchcock, as its inception: Two strangers meet on a train and agree to murder the person who’s making the other person’s life a misery. In Slingshot’s version boy meets girl, girl turns out to be raving psychopath… The idea developed out of a teen Hitchcock scriptwriting competition that Slingshot ran in 2007, and Richard Linklater’s Before Sunrise is apparently another influence.

Slingshot’s hoping to shoot in 2011 so look for more soon.
