Filmmaker DM Pelley sent over word regarding the first teaser trailer for his indie production Super Death Kill, an Americanized attempt to recreate the gore-soaked gonzo stylings of extreme Asian cinema in a film about an Asian guy that looks like Johnny Socko meets Blade battling psychos, monsters, and mutant zombies in a futuristic hellscape.

According to the Super Death Kill Facebook page the movie stars Michael Dones, Patrick O’Dowd Lawrence, Charlie Carter, Christina Gadberry-Pelley, and Lloyd Kaufman. It certainly wouldn’t be a futuristic hellscape without Lloyd Kaufman, now would it?

In the post-apocalyptic world of the near future, a man from the Southern Wastelands responds to an ad for a day labor job and finds himself trapped in a tournament filled with mutants, scavengers, and psychopathic humans with super-human abilities.

The only way out is to fight or die…

In the vein of Ichi the Killer, Oldboy, and Cyborg, Super Death Kill is an American take on “Asian Extreme” films.

I never thought I would live to see the day that a filmmaker would actually aspire to make a motion picture in the vein of Cyborg. I also never thought I would live to see the day that Oldboy and Cyborg would be listed together in the same sentence under any circumstances. Today is a special day.

And this trailer for Super Death Kill is also quite special. Joe Bob says, “Check it out!
