Exclusive: Dread Central Invades the 2010 Streamy Awards: Ghostfacers Update! Fear Clinic Coverage!

On a windy, overcast Sunday afternoon the 2010 Streamy Awards took over the Orpheum Theater in downtown Los Angeles. Even though the FearNet webseries “Fear Clinic,” directed by Robert Hall and starring genre favorites Robert Englund, Kane Hodder, Danielle Harris, and Lisa Wilcox, stood alone to represent our favorite genre, that doesn’t mean there wasn’t a gaggle of horror-related goodies to indulge in while working the red carpet event before the show.
Before the Streamy Awards were under way, Dread Central’s red carpet team of Heather Wixson and Brian Smith had the opportunity to catch up with some new faces in horror as well as some of the genre’s most beloved personalities.
Since we never want to deprive our readers of any sort of awesomeness, Dread Central has cooked up two videos from the Streamy Awards red carpet event. The first video is chock-full of interviews.
Being uber-fans of “Supernatural”, we were excited to chat with both AJ Buckley and Travis Wester, stars of the new CW short-form series “Ghostfacers.” “Ghostfacers” is a spin-off from the Season One “Supernatural” episode called “Hell House” in which the Winchester brothers encounter a hapless team of ghost hunters from a reality show who get more than they bargained for when they find a haunted house was a little more evil than they were prepared to deal with.
Look for “Ghostfacers” to debut its first two episodes on April 15th in conjunction with the 100th episode of “Supernatural.”
Also on the red carpet at the Streamy Awards was funny guy Josh Gad from the webseries “Woke Up Dead,” in which he stars alongside other funny guy Jon Heder, who gave us an update on the future of that series as well as some laughs with a large yellow bunny.
Dread Central also had time to talk with actress Cooper Harris, who starred in not only MegaShark vs. Giant Octopus but also Mega Piranha as well as the upcoming SyFy original Meteor Apocalypse. She talked a bit about working in the new campy wave of horror films and with hunky co-star Lorenzo Lamas.
Next on the list of interviewees was the creative team behind the dark thriller web series called “Compulsions,” including director Nathan Atkinson and writer/creator Bernie Su.
We also had time to catch up with all-around awesome guy Ted Raimi, who gave us an update on where we can see him next and showed his love for the Dread Central team.
Our second video shifts its focus over to our beloved Dr. Andover and the rest of the gang from “Fear Clinic,” including Englund, who was nominated for Best Actor at the Streamy Awards for his performance in the series, director Hall, actress Harris, and creator/writer Aaron Drane. They spoke to us about how it felt to be not only three-time Streamy Award nominees but how the Internet is becoming the future of the entertainment industry. Plus, Dread Central learned on the red carpet that it looks like there might be the chance that horror fans will get to see a second season of “Fear Clinic.”
Both Hall and show producer Mark Johnson confirmed that while nothing is official just yet, there have been discussions about putting together another set of webisodes since the first run of the “Fear Clinic” web series was so successful (with around 3 million views collectively).
Englund also gave an update on the status of his upcoming project Tamora Gamble, and Harris spoke about where horror fans can see her next, including Stake Land and Hatchet 2.
