Silent Night, Deadly Podcast: Ep20 – I TRAPPED THE DEVIL (2019)

You asked for it, Gizmo asked for it, Mother Krampus asked for it, and now Dread Central is proud to present the year-round Christmas horror podcast you’ve long been waiting for…Silent Night, Deadly Podcast! Chris, Kieran, Matt and Rob – collectively known as “The Jingle Boys” – are prepared to take you on one demented journey through a winter wonderland of the best and worst tinsel terror the big (and small) screen has to offer.

This week, the Jingle Boys highlight a recent addition to the Xmas Horror canon. Josh Lobo’s I Trapped The Devil is a minimalist Twilight Zone riff about family dysfunction, psychological breakdowns, and yes, the devil. Well, maybe the devil? Scott Poythress tries to convince AJ Bowen and Susan Burke he’s locked up Lucifer downstairs, but can it be true? Will Satan spoil the holidays?

I Trapped The Devil might be a family affair, but the Jingle Boys are a house divided in this episode. Who’s drawn to the film’s cinematography like a moth to red lights or Lobo’s command of slow-burn sustainability? What duo fights for their desires to see a little more “action?” Which ingrate claims “I Trapped The Devil makes Black Christmas look like a masterpiece,” even though it clearly is (hi, this is Matt Donato writing)? Listen to find out!
