New VFX Filled Trailer For Takashi Miike’s Terra Formars Trailer Puts Hollywood Productions To Shame

It may not be a Hollywood production, but the new trailer for Takashi Miike’s Terra Formars contains such lavish production values that it may as well be.
The manga adaptation is set after an attempt to colonize Mars results in giant cockroaches taking over the planet, so it lies with a bunch of space marines the show the damn bugs where they stand on the evolutionary scale. I know that the plot makes it sound like a Starship Troopers knockoff, but this is Miike we’re talking about. If anyone can put a crazy and original spin on something, it’s him.
Forget Star Wars. Forget Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. When it comes to upcoming VFX filled sci-fi films, Terra Formars is the shit. The colonization begins when it hits Japanese screens on April 29, 2016.
