Another wonderful actor has passed on as we’ve learned that Robert Guillaume died at home Tuesday, October 24, 2017, in Los Angeles after a bout with prostate cancer, according to his widow, Donna Brown Guillaume. He was 89.

Best known for starring roles in the sitcoms “Soap,” which had an unbelievably funny Exorcist-themed episode, and “Benson,” Guillaume was also the first African-American Phantom of the Opera in the popular Andrew Lloyd Webber stage play of the same name.

Through the years Guillaume did a lot of voice work for popular video games like Half Life 2, Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+, a ton of cartoons, and more. Genre-wise, on TV he appeared in an episode of “The Outer Limits” and in the horror flick 13th Child.

We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to offer our sincerest of condolences to Guillaume’s friends, family members, and constituents. Thank you for all the wonderful memories, sir. You were one of a kind.
