Vin Diesel's Tigon Studios Reteams With Gaming Corps for Riddick: The Merc FilesIt’s a Vin Diesel production starring Vin Diesel created by Vin Diesel’s video game studio. NO, REALLY! Diesel’s Tigon Studios and Gaming Corps team up once again for Riddick: The Merc Files

…a touch-based stealth action game for iOS (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch) that promises a “high quality mobile game play experience.

The third in the series (Chronicles Of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay, CoR: Assault On Dark Athena) and a seemingly well-timed tie-in for the latest in the Pitch Black/Riddick franchise (Riddick: Rule the Dark), you find yourself in the role of Riddick (duh) – doing what he does best: avoiding the mercenaries that hunt him everywhere he turns.  Escape them, trick them, or eliminate them. It’s your choice.

The Merc Files involves situation-based game play, meaning what you do can affect what happens next. If you don’t hide the bodies, other mercs will find you and a possible all-out ass kicking may have to happen in order to escape with your own ass intact. Now I know it seems like you’d need a controller for all this, but they want ya to know that they’ve designed the controls specifically for two fingers on same hand, optimizing the gaming experience while losing none of the game’s depth.

Gaming Corps’ creative director and lead designer on Escape From Butcher Bay‘s Jens Larsson says, “To tonally match the latest Riddick movie, the mobile platforms are perfect for the gameplay experience we wanted to deliver, which is one of stealth-action combined with an ‘all hell breaks loose’ shooter. The game will evolve and expand through updates to provide an intensive layered experience to the player.

In order to keep players coming back, there will be content packs featuring new levels and new core features (traps and lures) as well as the intention to “keep expanding and reinventing to stay fresh and interesting over time.

Riddick: The Merc Files is available NOW in the app store for $1.99.
