El Paso, Elsewhere is a Blood-Soaked Love Story

What happens when you have two guns, the ability to slow time, a haunted motel, and a vampire lover? You get El Paso, Elsewhere, the latest game by Strange Scaffolding.

Announced at today’s Guerrilla Collective event, El Paso, Elsewhere is seeking to combine Max Payne with some supernatural influences. You play as a man who’s descending into a supernatural motel that has gained over 40 floors, all underground, in a single day. Despite being underground, you’ll be finding yourself in settings like graveyards that are outside. It’s clear the motel has a mind of its own. Your goal? Find Max, the lord of the vampires… and the woman that you used to love. Dramatic.

Of course, to get to Max, you have plenty of things you need to shoot. This includes werewolves, zombies, floating eyeballs that shoot fireballs, and other creatures in your way. Thankfully, you have the ability to dive and go into slow-mo at any point in time. Add this to an arsenal of weapons made to kill things, like shotguns, holy-water-filled molotov cocktails that burn with a blue fire, and stakes, and you have plenty of violence along the way. Sure you may have your evil vampire lover at the bottom of the haunted motel, but it doesn’t seem like she wants you to reach her that easily.

Also, I have been told by director Xalavier Nelson Jr, behind hits like An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs and Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator that you can not pet the werewolves. This is very sad.

While El Paso, Elsewhere isn’t due to come out until 2022, you can add the game to your Steam Wishlist right now.
