Found Footage ‘Frogman’ Hops Onto VOD This March [Trailer]

Frogman

Folklore is sick. Where I grew up, we told campfire tales about the Goatman. Our neighborhood had a massive retention pond, which we called the “ditch,” at the end of the street. It was expansive, and in the middle was an entrance into a dense sewer system. Naturally, we told ourselves an axe-wielding man with the head of a goat lived down there, ready to behead anyone unfortunate enough to stumble in there. It was a fun story, but not as fun as Ohio’s Loveland frog, otherwise known as the Loveland frogman, a humanoid frog that kind of just… vibes? I don’t know if he’s ever done anything, but he’s allegedly about four feet tall, and I love that for him. Now, filmmaker Anthony Cousins is making a movie, aptly titled Frogman.

Check out the trailer below:

Our own Mary Beth McAndrews is already planning to make Frogman her entire personality, and I think I’m going to join her. In conventional found footage fashion, three friends set out to confirm the legend of the Loveland frogman, and of course, come to find the legend is more real than they thought. You know what I love in horror? Legends that are more real than anyone thought!

The internet has been in a tizzy since the trailer dropped late last week. Found footage has been on an upswing as of late—my favorite of which has to be Dutch Marich’s Horror in the High Desert 2: Minerva—and Frogman looks to be the latest must-see found footage offering.

Check out what some fans have had to say below:

I absolutely adore him, too. I didn’t know who the Frogman was until last week, but now I can’t get enough.

Lunchmeat VHS recently put the film out on VHS ahead of the film’s VOD release on March 8, 2024.

What do you think? Do you plan to check out Frogman when it premieres on VOD on March 8? Let me know over on Twitter @Chadiscollins, and please, please tell me about whatever weird, local legends you have where you’re from.
