From the Press Release:
This Valentine’s Day, ditch the roses and keep the box of chocolates for yourself while you watch Love Is in the Scare, a marathon of Scream Factory classics streaming free on Sunday, February 14th, from noon to midnight PT at loveisinthescare.com.

Brace yourself for 12 hours of heart-stopping shocks from seven terrifying films including the Shout! Factory TV premiere screenings of Beyond Darkness, Ghosthouse, Metamorphosis, Nomads, Class of 1984, Witchery, and The Editor. The marathon event serves as a trip back to the early days of premium cable channels and their daylong presentations of classic horror.

“The idea of the retro-themed marathon was born naturally since many Scream Factory fans, including ourselves, who love older films grew up in the 80s watching such anticipated events on cable channels like HBO and Showtime,” explains Jeff Nelson, Senior Marketing Director, Scream Factory. “At the time, it was a rush to see several horror films with no commercials all at once… and when you made it through them all, there was a sense of victory (and maybe some terrified nerves too). Since those kind of stunts were so exciting, we thought it would be fun to recreate one and take our fans back to a ‘1984’-era ( right down to the vintage promos, bumpers, and creative) where they, too, could relive the nostalgia or experience for the first time.”

Fans of Scream Factory and cult horror won’t want to miss these films streaming free! Join the conversation using the hashtag #LoveIsInTheScare while you watch. Be sure to follow along on Twitter and Facebook.

After fans have watched the classics here, Beyond Darkness, Ghosthouse, Metamorphosis, Nomads, and Witchery will be available on Shout! Factory TV for evergreen streaming following the marathon.

Schedule of Films:

~12:00 noon – Class of 1984
Directed and co-written by Mark L. Lester (Class of 1999, Commando, Firestarter), Class of 1984, with its vision of a decaying, violence-plagued inner city school, is one of the most provocative cult movies of the early 1980s. With an original story and screenplay co-written by genre veteran Tom Holland (Fright Night, Child’s Play, Psycho II, The Beast Within), the film is also notable for its Alice Cooper theme song “I Am The Future,” as well as its memorable cast, which includes Lisa Langlois (Deadly Eyes, The Nest), Roddy McDowall, Stefan Arngrim (Fear No Evil) and Michael J. Fox in an early role.

In Class of 1984, Andy Norris (Slaughterhouse Five’s Perry King) is an idealistic and naive music teacher who has moved into the Lincoln High community with his pregnant wife, Diane. Appalled by the crime-infested school, Norris soon crosses sabers with its teenage kingpin, the shrewd and sadistic Peter Stegman (“The White Shadow’s” Timothy Van Patten). With Norris setting his sights on reforming Stegman, the young miscreant declares war on his teacher, and the duo sets a fateful showdown into motion on the night of an important school orchestra performance.

~1:50 p.m. – Witchery
A new address brings new frights as the immortal David Hasselhoff and The Exorcist’s Linda Blair turn up the terror in Witchery. When a terrible storm leaves a motley assortment of people stranded on an island resort, they soon find they have more to worry about than not packing rain gear! A horrible witch unleashes her wrath on the unwanted visitors – and no one is safe from her unquenchable thirst for death!

~3:45 p.m. – Ghosthouse
A group of visitors to a seemingly-deserted home find themselves tormented by demonic spirits – including one particularly freaky little girl and her creepy clown companion. Soon, our hapless heroes find themselves powerless to conquer the evil of the Ghosthouse – where death holds the mortgage, and if you move in… there’ll be Hell to pay!

~5:30 p.m. – Nomads
Lesley-Anne Down (Sphinx, Death Wish V) “gives a riveting… performance” (L.A. Weekly) and Pierce Brosnan (GoldenEye, The November Man) is top-notch in “the most stylish supernatural-themed chiller… since Carrie” (Variety)! Also starring Adam Ant (Slam Dance), Mary Woronov (Death Race 2000) and Frank Doubleday (Escape from New York) and written and directed by John McTiernan (Predator, Die Hard, The Hunt for Red October), Nomads is a “chiller thriller [that’s] brimming with menace and suspense” (Judith Crist)!

They creep. They kill… and no one knows who they are or where they came from. But when these rootless, demonic spirits descend on a determined doctor, all hell breaks loose. Bitten by a dying madman named Jean Pommier (Brosnan), Dr. Eileen Flax (Down) becomes the vessel for his turbulent and insane thoughts. Thrust into his last days, she is shocked to discover the existence of mysterious and murderous demons on a quest for destruction… and begins her own quest to somehow stop them before she joins Pommier in his horrifying fate!

~7:15 p.m. – The Editor
A loving tribute to the gory and gruesome erotic horror of classic Italian giallo cinema, The Editor spins the twisted tale of a once-prolific film editor who becomes the prime suspect in a series of murders haunting a seedy 1970s film studio.

Rey Ciso (Adam Brooks) was once the greatest editor the world had ever seen. Since a horrific accident left him with four wooden fingers on his right hand, he’s had to resort to cutting pulp films and trash pictures. When the lead actors from the film he’s been editing turn up murdered at the studio, Rey is fingered as the number one suspect. The bodies continue to pile up in this absurdist giallo-thriller as Rey struggles to prove his innocence and learn the sinister truth lurking behind the scenes.

~9:05 p.m. – Metamorphosis
When his experiments in genetics are mocked by his colleagues, maverick scientist Dr. Peter Houseman takes extreme measures to prove that his untested anti-aging serum works. Injecting himself with his miracle cure, he soon experiences a terrifying change within himself that threatens not only the lives of those around him, but also his own sanity. From cult cinema mainstay George Eastman, Metamorphosis proves that nightmares may change, but fear is forever!

~10:55 p.m. – Beyond Darkness
When a man of God and his loving family move into a new house, they think they’ve found the perfect home… until they discover that their new digs were once the location where a coven of witches were burned at the stake! It’s only a matter of time before the radio starts blaring satanic chants and the cutlery takes on a mind of its own. Will the awakened evil in this house have its final revenge, or can a plucky priest fend off what lurks Beyond Darkness? This tale of terror comes from Claudio Fragasso, the director of Troll 2 (so you KNOW it’s good!).
