New MPAA Ratings: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Under The Silver Lake, Escape Plan 2, and Dead Shack

Do people still care about MPAA ratings? Is it really even news? Shrugs. I’m not sure so I’m combining a few new titles into one entry and sticking the post in the weekend slot. Guess we’ll find out if the thirst for this kind of knowledge is out there.

Anyhow, today we have news via the MPAA that J.A. Bayona’s mega-budget sequel Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom has been rated PG-13 for “intense sequences of science-fiction violence and peril.” While IT Follows director David Robert Mitchell’s new neo-noir Under The Silver Lake starring Andrew Garfield is rated R for “strong sexual content, graphic nudity, violence, language throughout and some drug use.”

On top of that, we also learned that Steven C. Miller’s Escape Plan 2 starring Sylvester Stallone is rated R for “violence and language.” And Dead Shack scored an R-rating for “bloody violence/gore, language throughout, and some sexual references.”

That’s all I got for today, ladies and gents so stay tuned as I will more than likely keep posting about movie ratings as I find them to be fascinating – especially for their “reasons.” Do you agree?
