The most shocking thing about the existence of the dino-zombie hybrid flick Z-Rex: Jurassic Dead is that neither Roger Corman, Syfy, nor Troma came up with it first.
That honor goes to directors Milko Davis and Thomas Martwick; Davis also co-wrote with Michelle Pacitto.
Synopsis:
A cracked scientist aligns with the Axis of Evil to bring down the US of A with EMP blasts, toxic zombification gas, and an unleashing of the ultimate undead killing monstrosity — the Z-REX. When a hot-wired militia squad and a crew of college hipsters are thrown together to do something about it, chaotic Predator-Thunder action runs amok.
Z-Rex stars famed bodybuilder Andy Haman (here looking like a WWE wrestler doing a Duke Nukem gimmick), UFC fighter Raquel Pennington, past “American Ninja Warrior” Ruselis Perry, as well as Ben Johnson, Mia Klosterman, Shale le Page, Nicole Goeke, Adam Singer, Cooper Hoag, Juan Gonzalez, and Kelsey Briding.
This will clearly be a very fit cast.
The first teaser trailer for Z-Rex: Jurassic Dead has arrived, and while there’s more “Rex” than “Z” on display, I’m okay with that.
