‘Stranger Things’ Fan Favorite Joseph Quinn in Talks to Star in ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’

Wait. He’s British? Hopes may be dashed that our cherished metalhead Eddie Munster (Joseph Quinn) could somehow be resurrected from the Upside Down after his rock ‘n’ roll demise in season 4 of Stranger Things. It sounds like Quinn is about to hit the big time, with Deadline reporting that the London-based actor may co-star in A Quiet Place: Day One opposite superstar Lupita Nyong’o.

Not surprisingly, the new project is being kept under tight wraps. Things are gearing up, however, considering the big news about Nyong’o signing on to star just dropped two weeks ago. With this announcement hinting at Quinn’s possible involvement, more casting news should be firming up in the very near future.

The blockbuster horror franchise from Paramount is attracting some very big names, that’s for sure. Nyong’o is a massive draw after starring in hits like Us and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. But it makes a lot of sense to pair her with a fan favorite like Joseph Quinn whose star is most definitely on the rise.

It’s smart for Quinn to stay in the horror genre while also making the jump from Netflix to the big screen. Showing effortless chemistry with the original Stranger Things cast, Quinn melted our hearts with the big brother affection he showed fellow Dungeons and Dragons nerd, Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo). As of now, it’s unclear if John Krasinski and Emily Blunt will cameo in Michael Sarnoski’s spinoff of the A Quiet Place franchise. If they do, Quinn will fit right in alongside the stars of the original.

When confirmation hits regarding Quinn’s involvement with A Quiet Place: Day One, it should cause a great deal of excitement. Even if it means that Quinn is leaving the Duffer Brothers universe to join forces with Lupita Nyong’o, it’s a pretty exciting possibility. And really, could we blame him?

A Quiet Place: Day One is currently scheduled to hit theaters on March 8, 2024. That’s a long way off, so maybe all hope is not lost. Stranger Things season 5 is being written as we speak, with shooting slated to begin sometime in 2023.
