Netflix has finally dropped the first trailer for their James Wan-produced found-footage series Archive 81. The show hits audiences worldwide on January 14th, and we honestly can’t wait. The trailer below is brooding and jam-packed with scares. .

Also, the reason you may have heard of Archive 81 is because it’s based on a popular podcast of the same name. IMO, found-footage seems like a natural progression Team Wan, whose debut Saw utilized elements of the popular sub-genre.

Subsequently, Archive 81 follows an archivist who takes a job restoring a collection of damaged videotapes from 1994. Reconstructing the work of a documentary filmmaker named Melody Pendras (Dina Shihabi), he’s drawn into her investigation of a dangerous cult at the Visser apartment building. As the season unfolds across these two timelines, Dan slowly finds himself obsessed with uncovering what happened to Melody. When the two characters form a mysterious connection, Dan becomes convinced he can save her from the terrifying end she met 25 years ago.
