This 1997 Clint Eastwood political thriller is now streaming on Max (formerly HBOMax). Fans of Eastwood are enjoying their time revisiting this slept-on movie. Absolute Power should be on your radar if you somehow missed it. Here’s everything we know about this title.

“While robbing the home of aging billionaire Walter Sullivan (E.G. Marshall), Luther Whitney (Clint Eastwood) is interrupted by an amorous couple entering the building. As Whitney hides, he sees Sullivan’s young wife, Christy (Melora Hardin), and the U.S. President, Alan Richmond (Gene Hackman). When their affection turns violent, Christy is killed by the Secret Service. Although Whitney flees, he is framed for the murder. Now, he seeks justice with the help of detective Seth Frank (Ed Harris).”

Absolute Power was directed by Clint Eastwood. It was adapted for the screen by William Goldman. It is based on the David Baldacci novel of the same name. The movie features Clint Eastwood, Gene Hackman, Ed Harris, Laura Linney, Judy Davis, Scott Glenn, Dennis Haysbert, and Richard Jenkins.

Many people are obviously in awe of the acting in this movie. For some cinephiles, it is their first Eastwood movie.
