For the life of me I cannot picture a world without The Blob. It’s with a heavy heart that we report that the man who brought us this seminal film and so many more, producer Jack H. Harris, has passed on at the ripe old age of 98.
The man’s catalog is the stuff of a monster kid’s dream! The 4-D Man, Dinosaurus, Equinox, Beware the Blob, the 1987 remake of The Blob, The Eyes of Laura Mars, Dark Star, Master of Horror, Schlock… how can you not just adore him? Harris knew how to make fun, spooky films; and he reveled in doing so.
We here at Dread Central would like to take this time to extend our sincerest of condolences to Jack’s friends, family members, and constituents. Thank you, thank you, thank you, sir. You’ve forever left your mark, and we’re all the better for it! Godspeed!
