Horror Comedy InSpectres Getting a Theatrical Release in SeptemberWhat with today being Independence Day, we thought we’d take a moment to pass on some good news about an independent film that has landed exclusive theatrical distribution with Muvico – Reactor 88 Studios’ horror comedy InSpectres.

The film will screen exclusively at Muvico locations, beginning with the world premiere on September 6th, 2013, in Rosemont, Illinois.

InSpectres‘ journey to the big screen has been a long one. Development began in late 2009 with all principal photography completed by October 2010. It was shot in the Midwest, mostly in the Chicagoland area where it will premiere. Based on the role-playing game by creator Jared A. Sorensen, the script was written by award-winning novelist and game designer Matt Forbeck and game designer J.A. Dohm. Stars of the film include Lucas Thompson, Brian Barber, Mike Mauloff, and Melinda Ryba. InSpectres is the feature debut for director Darren Orange, joined by Director of Photography Robert P. Stern. It is the first feature in a series of planned releases for Reactor 88 Studios, with distribution handled by their new venture, Reactor 88 Releasing.

Tickets will be available for purchase in late July. Check out the trailer below, and for more info and updates keep your eyes on the official InSpectres website, and “like” InSpectres on Facebook.

Synopsis:
InSpectres takes place in a world where ghosts, ghouls, and goblins are commonplace. The InSpectres are the only exterminators capable of eliminating these supernatural pests!

After a brief run-in with a homeless zombie, Lucas joins the InSpectres as an Agent-in-Training. He, his mentor Tracey, and the rest of the InSpectres team embark on an eerily funny adventure aimed at recapturing entities freed from a government holding facility by a corporate saboteur. Along the way they run into a variety of released oddities including: an invisible Hollywood fanboy, a Wolfman who likes to party, and a Gremlin that fixes arcade machines. The InSpectres track the saboteur across the country in an attempt to prevent Armageddon. In the end their heart and persistence prove exactly why the InSpectres are the ones who… fight the forces of darkness so you don’t have to!
