A group of indie filmmakers have teamed up to produce a slate of three to four features per year that should fall on the horror/thriller side of the fence more often than not so we wanted to bring it to your attention.  They’ve provided an update on their first project, The Night Watchmen, and announced that their next film will be a thriller titled Star Light.

From the Press Release:
Jeffrey Allard (TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE [2003], PING PONG SUMMER) of Indie Entertainment, Mitchell Altieri of The Butcher Brothers (THE HAMILTONS, A BEGINNER’S GUIDE TO SNUFF), and Orama Filmworks (THE NIGHT WATCHMEN) are combining forces to develop and produce a slate of modestly-budgeted films with new and upcoming filmmakers. The independent film slate will be financed by private equity, and they are currently looking to produce three to four features a year.

First up on the new slate for the partnership is the thriller STAR LIGHT, which is set to shoot this September in Kentucky. Directed by Lee Cummings, STAR LIGHT is the story of a teen whose life is turned upside down when he helps a world-famous pop star on the run from her violent pursuers. Mitchell Altieri, Jeffrey Allard, and Cheryl Staurulakis will produce with Leo Staurulakis and Andrew Mardirous executive producing. Mardirous also co-wrote the script with Altieri and Jamal Jenings. The script is currently out to cast.

Indie, Orama, and Altieri’s initial collaborative effort was the award-winning feature THE NIGHT WATCHMEN, a horror/comedy and big favorite among festival goers (check out a new still below). THE NIGHT WATCHMAN has entered into an agreement with Gravitas Ventures to release the film in late fall 2017 with worldwide rights being sold through Automatic Entertainment.

The newly formed Orama Filmworks is the collaboration of husband and wife team Leo and Cheryl Staurulakis.

In regards to the endeavor, Cheryl Staurulakis said, “We feel lucky to have had the opportunity to work with Mitch and Jeff on The Night Watchmen and truly look forward to a full slate of great films in the next couple of years. We make a great team!”

Altieri added, “I enjoy mentoring new directors and getting them into the spotlight. I want to give them all the tools I wished for in the beginning of my career.”
