DC’s The Devil’s Muse: Artist Spotlight – Graham Hart

If you were watching our San Diego Comic-Con coverage, then you might have already seen an example of this next artist’s work. Graham Hart was the creator behind the crazy, psychedelic The Mind’s Eye poster that appeared during SDCC 2016.

It’s safe to say the rest of his art is equally trippy, but you know what… we love that! And at the very least, if you find neon colors exciting, this is definitely the artist for you.

Plus, what’s not to like when one of his pieces is titled The Sentient Butthole from Outer Space?

Artist’s Bio:
Graham Hart was brewed in a steel cauldron in the neon-filled city of Fairfield, Iowa, in June 1987 by a pair of Occult-practicing Gnomes. He was raised from birth in what he was told was “definitely not a cult” but was in fact a transcendental meditation commune buried deep in the boonies of rural Iowa. (Again, not a cult.) There are no pictures to prove it, but allegedly this is where he did baby stuff.

The allure of Iowa didn’t last long as he and the family moved back—or escaped to—California to live out the rest of his youth behind the Orange Curtain. They struck down the Hart Family Flag in Laguna Beach. Here is where, over time, he developed a love for movies, monsters, and other oddities in partial thanks to the neighboring video store that let him rent Con Air way too many times. Filled with knowledgeable weirdos, this outlet gave him all the creative fuel needed to create the rad as fuck, blood and slime soaked, sometimes lowbrow creations that you see here today.

For more work from Graham, you can find him on Instagram and Twitter, or check out his website!

Thanks for eyeballing this week’s Devil’s Muse. We look forward to seeing you again!
