Scream Factory has just announced that they will be releasing a special 2-disc Blu-ray edition of Zack Snyder’s 2004 zombie remake Dawn of the Dead, a reimagining of George A. Romero’s 1978 classic. Very few special features have been announced, but we WILL be seeing both the theatrical and the unrated versions of the film!

Additionally, there will be new interviews with Ty Burrell, James Gunn, Jake Webber, and David Anderson & Heather Langenkamp Anderson, as well as a slipcover for the Collector’s edition, which is guaranteed for three months after release.

The official release date will be October 24th, but those who order in advance will get the Blu-ray two weeks early AND will get a 18″x24″ poster of the new key art, which was designed by Nathaniel Marsh!

Synopsis:
When a neighbor’s young daughter is turned into a zombie and attacks her husband, Ana (Sarah Polley) just manages to escape, only to realize her entire Milwaukee neighborhood has been overrun by the walking dead. After being questioned by cautious policeman Kenneth (Ving Rhames), Ana joins him and a small group that gravitates to the local shopping mall as a bastion of safety. Once they convince suspicious security guards that they are not contaminated, the group bands together to fight the undead hordes.
