Yet another sign the zombies have taken over has arrived. Bram Stoker Award-winning, New York Times bestselling author Jonathan Maberry has just released his newest work of horrific fiction, a novel entitled Dead of Night: A Zombie Novel. And it’s absolutely crawling with living dead.

With other zombie titles such as Rot and Ruin and Dust and Decay to his credit, Maberry obviously knows how to spin a quality zombie yarn. He also recently contributed an essay on everyone’s favorite zombie slayer, Rick Grimes, to Triumph of The Walking Dead, a collection of writings by several authors celebrating the extremely popular comic book series and AMC TV show. Additionally Maberry was featured in the History Channel’s documentary entitled “Zombies: A Living History” with Max Brooks, Dr. Steve Schlozman, and Roger Ma. He’s literally making a living on the dead… well, the undead.

Maberry writes for Marvel Comics when not telling wicked tales of the reanimated, but it seems like zombies are truly his thing. You can get a look at Dead of Night along with his other works and blog at the official Jonathan Maberry website. Check it out!

Dead of Night Synopsis
A prison doctor injects a condemned serial killer with a formula designed to keep his consciousness awake while his body rots in the grave. But all drugs have unforeseen side effects. Before he could be buried, the killer wakes up. Hungry. Infected. Contagious.

Small-town cop Dez Fox and her partner JT are caught in a wave of murder as everyone they know and love die…only to rise again as the ravenous living dead. If Dez and JT can’t contain the plague inside the town limits, the infection will spread beyond all control.

This is the way the world ends. Not with a bang, but a bite.
