David Bruckner’s THE NIGHT HOUSE Rated R for Violence, Disturbing Images & More

Director David Bruckner is one of the top up-and-coming filmmakers we keep a close eye on. And that includes his upcoming flick The Night House with Rebecca Hall (The Awakening).

And speaking of which, today we’ve learned the MPPA has slapped the flick with an R-rating for “some violence/disturbing images, and language including some sexual references.”

Sounds good to us!

Written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, the film has a vague synopsis at this time which lets us know it focuses on a widow that uncovers her recently deceased husband’s disturbing secrets. Again, not much to go on, but that’s all good at this point in time.

Hall added: “I suppose I do late-night anxiety well. I found it generally frightening to read. I felt very alongside the character when I was reading it and made me want to start acting it out.”
