Clive Barker Joins HBO & David Gordon Green’s HELLRAISER Series

HBO is developing a series adaptation of Clive Barker’s Hellraiser with Halloween and Halloween Kills director David Gordon Green helming the first few episodes.
And today we learned Barker has joined the show as executive producer.
Barker said: “[I’m] delighted the Hellraiser mythology is seeing a new life. It’s time the stories went back to their roots. I’m eager to bring to a new audience the most powerful and ancient elements of horror: the darkest evil invading our human lives and how we must find in ourselves the power to resist it.“
Executive producer Dan Farah (Ready Player One) added: “Hellraiser started with Clive’s imagination and we couldn’t be more excited to have him on board.”
Michael Dougherty (Trick r’ Treat, Krampus) will write the series along with showrunner Mark Verheiden (Battlestar Galactica) based on Barker’s novel.
The series is planned as a continuation of the existing Hellraiser mythology.
Barker, Green, and Farah will executive produce with Roy Lee (IT), Danny McBride, Jody Hill, Brandon James, Eric Gardner, Lawrence Kuppin, David Salzman, and Marc Toberoff. Andrew Farah and Adam Salzman will serve as co-exec producers.
