Exclusive Stills and Teaser Trailer Debut for Daniel Solinger’s L.A. Slasher

British filmmaker Daniel Solinger’s The Bigger Picture Films production of the feature film L.A. Slasher is under way, and we have a teaser trailer for the serial killer project right here as well as word on the production, some exclusive stills, and more.
Set in the near future and with the tagline of “In the City of Angels, Some People Will DIE to Be Famous,” the narrative of L.A. Slasher follows the exploits of the titular character, a figure who for nefarious reasons (to be revealed – Daniel Solinger is keeping mum on that for now) “…abducts a series of fame-obsessed wannabe reality stars and assists them in their quest for celebrity by digitally distributing the torture and murder of the quartet to the Internet. As the clue-ridden video clips go viral, the LAPD and one very inquisitive viewer find themselves engaged in a desperate game of cat and mouse in a bid to apprehend the killer before further victims are claimed. But why is the L.A. Slasher abducting and killing these ingénues, and will the sadist be discovered before he can complete his master plan? A film with a complex ending – Blair Witch Project meets Blade Runner – welcome to the dark and twisted world of L.A. Slasher.”
With intended commentary on American culture’s fascination with both celebrity and the serial killer, Daniel Solinger, who previously directed the unscripted British horror film/physiological experiment The Lucifer Effect, which had to be put on hold (more on that project soon), as well as the popular series MTV series “The Bigger Picture,” from which he is currently making the related film The Lords of Gas, says that his aim with L.A. Slasher is to deliver a film that is, in his words, “truly disturbing and real terror which taps into the zeitgeist with a reveal that will get your knickers in a twist!”
Produced by Daniel Solinger, Seth Ward, and Dread Central’s own Sean Decker and starring Hilary Anderson (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas), Jaala Pickering, Raven Elise, Emily Arnett, Catherine Colle, and Ashley Kirk (with more to be announced), principal photography on the feature is slated for early 2012.
