We’re big fans of D3 Publisher’s Earth Defense Force franchise round these parts. The games pit the best humanity has to offer against giant bugs from outer space, resulting in a ton of explosive entertainment. Firstly, a new trailer debuted for Earth Defense Force 5, which will be released on December 7, 2017, on PS4 in Japan. Check it out below.
Also announced at the Tokyo Game Show was a brand new entry in the franchise called Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain, which looks to do away with the more campy elements of the previous games in favor of a much more sombre tone. Or as sombre as you can get in a story about giant space ants invading Earth.
No word yet on when either of these will be heading Stateside, but we’ll keep you updated. They certainly look like games we’d want to play.
