STIR OF ECHOES Screenwriter’s First Novel COLD STORAGE Snagged by Paramount

David Koepp

Screenwriter/director David Koepp is no stranger to the horror genre. On top of penning Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park, Koepp has also written the Stephen King adaptation Secret Window starring Johnny Depp and the stellar Stir of Echoes based on the Richard Matheson story and starring Kevin Bacon.

And today we have word that Koepp will be turning his hand to writing novels himself… which will then turn into feature films… which I’m sure he’ll adapt to the screen. My head hurts.

Variety reports Koepp sold publishing rights to his new book Cold Storage to Ecco and Harper Collins and the movie rights landed in the hands of Paramount. The deal was in the seven-figure range. Koepp and Gavin Polone will produce.

All jokes aside, it’s currently unknown if Koepp will write the script – but he probably will. Plot details are under wraps, but at this point, we’re all just HOPING this film will be a genre flick. Fingers crossed!
