Doki Doki Literature Club Plus Physical Edition Released

Developer Team Salvato and publisher Serenity Forge announced that horror visual novel classic Doki Doki Literature Club is in retail stores starting at $29.99. North American retailers are selling Doki Doki Literature Club Plus on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 and 5. Check the official site to find a retailer near you.

This version of the hit visual novel will also feature some branded items. There’s a set of two-inch chipboard character standees for the four main characters, the full soundtrack with download code on a special floppy disk-shaped download card, 17 vinyl stickers, a Literature Club membership card, and a special poem from Monika. The version for the Nintendo Switch includes an inner cover sheet that takes inspiration from the game’s poem-writing mechanic. Doki Doki Literature Club Plus released its original version on Steam back in 2017. It became the top-rated game on Steam that year, and one of the top-rated titles of all time. Doki Doki Literature Club Plus added hours of additional content, expanding the game’s universe and exploring its themes.

In Doki Doki Literature Club, the player takes control of a student who joins his school’s Literature Club thanks to the influence of childhood friend Sayori. They also meet Yuri, Natsuki, and Monika, the club president. They begin to write poems and bond with the other members, but things soon take a turn for the horrific.

Team Salvato is an indie team that strives to tell stories and express creativity through games outside of traditional media.
