Vintage 1982 Action Figures from John Carpenter's The ThingNowadays every time we turn on the TV or sit down to read the news, we’re reminded of the imperfections of this world. Wars, racism, intolerance… they’re everywhere, man. Yet, none of them are as profound a reminder of our suckage than the fact that these delights never existed.

Badass Digest brought a new video to light found on YouTube (of course) showing off Eighties style action figures from John Capenter’s classic film The Thing. The feeling of authenticity in the following faux commercial is amazing. Anyone who grew up in the decade of big hair and gaudy clothes will recognize its style immediately.

We’re not exactly sure who’s responsible for this wondrous ad, but we want to both kiss you and tell you to go screw yourself at the same time.

One day… in a perfect world. Sigh.
