The New Indie Game Beat Cop Features a Charming Reference to Aliens

11 bit studios’ recently released game Beat Cop is already charming players with its non-linear story, multiple endings, irreverent humor, and bevy of 80’s cop show tropes. On top of sneaking in references to shows and movies like “Miami Vice” and Dirty Harry, the developers also snuck in a cute nod to James Cameron’s Aliens.

At one point in the game, you check out an apartment building and need to ring a buzzer to get in. Every name on that list is a member of the USCMC team, including Hicks, Drake, Vasquez, and the rest of the team. What’s interesting is that they were able to fit “Wierzbowski” but not “Spunkmeyer”. Not sure why but does it really matter? It’s a cute wink and I love the game for it!

For more on the game, check out the official website.

Synopsis:
Someone framed you and no one gives a rat’s ass about this but you. Turn every stone in this city and find out who did that. The further you investigate the more missing puzzles you’ll find, but be careful. Some things should never be brought to daylight.
