Edgar Wright to Direct Amblin Ghost Story STAGE 13

Shaun of the Dead and Last Night In Soho director Edgar Wright will helm Amblim’s upcoming adaptation of Simon Rich’s short story Stage 13.

Rich, whose short story Sell Out was adapted into An American Pickle with Seth Rogen, will adapt the screenplay from his short story of the same name from his 2018 short story collection Hits and Misses.

It follows a struggling film director that is hired by a studio executive to direct a fake movie to appease the ghost of a silent film star that has haunted a soundstage for decades. While the movie is being made in the hopes of getting the ghost to leave, the director and her form a bond.

Rich will produce with Nira Park, Tim Bevan, and Eric Fellner. Jeb Brody and John Buderwitz will oversee the project for the studio.
