Director Zeda Müller was kind enough to give us the following details about her film 13 Dolls in Darkness, which she plans to release to release on DVD by May.

Zeda Müller: 13 DOLLS IN DARKNESS began life several years ago, as a no budget, independent Australian film, created by a complete cast and crew of non professionals. The idea was to create a silent, black & white homage to all those old dark house horrors of the 1920’s with a splash of both the ‘giallo’ and slasher films of the 1960’s and 70’s. A kind of CAT AND THE CANARY meets THE RED QUEEN KILLS SEVEN TIMES.

To give the film a more lush look to try and separate it from the usual SOV (shot on video) titles, we utilised the historic buildings and small country towns surrounding us as filming locations, a treasure trove of gorgeous, historic architecture that seems harder and harder to find in modern day Australia. The film has now been completed and is set for independent DVD release by the end of May 2017.

The film is also being submitted to various horror film festivals and has been subject to rave reviews, describing it as ‘a throwback to the golden age of horror’, ‘creepy and atmospheric’ and ‘one of the best horror films I have seen in recent years’.
