Roth Preps Hostel Return

Eli Roth talks Hostel 2Though there’s really nothing new to report here, I know how the fans are dying for any bit of Hostel 2 news they can get their hands on. We aim to please.

Production Weekly is reporting that director Eli Roth will be back behind the camera to make Hostel 2 a reality starting in September. One of the biggest issues I had with the original had to do with the fact that it started off way to much like an 80’s teen comedy, but Roth promises we won’t sit through that again. “The first Hostel is a journey into hell that starts off fun,” he told the site “Part 2 is going to start off scary and stay creepy all the way through”. Thank God for small favors.

Roth will be shooting the sequel in Prague, Cesky Krumlov, Karlovy Vary, and other Czech Republic locations that are hard to both spell and pronounce. Though nothing is solid yet, he may also return to Slovakia as well, but considering the reaction some of the locals had to his portrayal of their country in the first film, we probably shouldn’t hold our breath.
