The teaser poster for Summit Entertainment's New Moon has been officially released, and as expected, its focus is the love triangle among vamp Edward, lycan Jacob, and our caught-in-the-middle human Bella.

And a collective sigh was heard throughout the land of teendom. MTV informs us today that an exclusive clip from upcoming sequel New Moon will be shown during the live broadcast of its 2009 MTV Movie Awards.

Well, it's official. The rumor-mill began rumbling yesterday that the acclaimed director of 30 Days of Night and Hard Candy, David Slade, was close to signing on to direct the third chapter in the Twilight saga, Eclipse. Today Slade has signed the dotted line.

The star power in Twilight sequel New Moon just got kicked up a notch with the announcement that Michael Sheen (aka Lucian the Lycan in the Underworld trilogy) has joined the cast. But this time he'll be playing for the other team.

She's described as a "fisher" who brings humans to the Volturi vampires to eat. She has "exceptional, unforgettable" beauty, which includes stunning legs, long hair, and violet eyes.

You've been waiting by your computer. Frantically hitting refresh on sites like Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. Finally the news you've been dying for has come -- the parts of Wolf Pack in the Twilight sequel, New Moon, have finally been cast.

Well, I guess the lesson here, kids, is that it pays to check your facts!

Just a quick update. Variety reports that Juan Antonio Bayona has indeed signed on to direct the third Twilight film, Eclipse.

Though the second film in the Twilight franchise, New Moon, is nowhere near in the can, that hasn't stopped Summit Entertainment from shopping for a director for the third entry, Eclipse (book review).

Well, it only makes sense that, in honor of the vampire romance saga Twilight coming to DVD, there would be some nocturnal festivities to celebrate one of the biggest pop culture spectacles in recent years.
