Urban Horror in Shady Talez

BonesOh, man, two words always put fear into my heart, and not in a good way: Urban Horror. So very rarely does it work out in the favor of us horror fans; seriously when was the last time you saw a truly good movie labeled “urban horror”? I’m gonna go back to Bones (pictured), and even that’s stretching it a bit.

So why Paramount is putting together an urban horror movie called Shady Talez (yes, the “z” is supposed to be there) is beyond me. Variety reports they’re working with Davis Entertainment’s urban label DJ Classicz (yep, another intentional “z”) to put together the anthology film.

The film will feature three stories penned by those involved with Davis, specifically Dallas Jackson and Marlon Chapman, which will pay tribute to classic horror filmz (shit now I’m doing it…)

Vampires, mummies, werewolves? I guess it’s a different spin on the urban horror anthology, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be good, does it? Here’s hoping they prove me wrong and give urban horror a good name for once!
