*UPDATED!* Final Three Masters Named
*UPDATE: Sci Fi Wire got the episode info for the final three!*
The final three directors in the second season of IDT/Showtime’s Masters of Horror series have finally been named with their work set to start up in the next few weeks according to sources at Fangoria.
Despite my insistence to hire Waxwork helmer Anthony Hickox, Garris and crew have decided to go with Changeling and Species II helmer Peter Medak, who will be helming the Richard Chizmar/Jonathan Schaech script "The Washingtonians" from a story by Bentley Little. The tale deals with a doccument that is found indicating that George Washington was acutally a cannibal, and the effects is has on modern-day politics.
Also new to sign is Wrong Turn director Rob Schmidt, who will be getting behind the camera for "Right to Die". Described as "a ghastly take on the right-to-life debate", this will be the second ep this season to have abortion themes, the other being John Carpenter's "Pro-Life".
Finally, they've hired Norio Tsuruta, who brought us The Ring 0 and Premonition, to direct "Dream Cruise", a (big surprise) Japanese ghost story.
I gotta say I’m pretty underwhelmed by those choices; it just seems like there’s more of an untapped talent pool out there that they got nowhere near. I guess we’ll have to let the results speak for themselves!
Tell us who you would like to see with the Masters title in our forums!

Now here’s something a bit different; a monster movie set during the age of Vikings. That’s a new one on me, but I’ll go along for the ride. The film is called Outlander, and is getting ready to start up its ten weeks of principal photography on October 9th in and around Halifax, British Columbia, according to Production Weekly.
