*UPDATED* Feast Re-shoot and Release Details
Fangoria is reporting some good news from the set of Feast today and has a few new pics to show off as well. Wait, did I say "set"? Wasn’t Feast done back in 2004?
Indeed it was, but as co-writer Patrick Melton explains, "The goal has been to enhance every monster-attack action sequence... The principal photography period was simply too rushed and many setups weren’t fully exploited, so this has been our chance to really up the ante in terms of the extreme gore, scares and shock value…as if there wasn’t already enough."
Definitely some good news for us fans who have been waiting forever to finally see Feast, but if you’re not in one of the nation’s top 100 markets, you’ll still have to wait. The film is opening on September 22nd for some midnight showings in the top 100 markets and will only show on two screens per market. It will also only play on September 22nd and 23rd however, and nothing is scheduled release-wise beyond that.
So, I guess the best way we can show our support -- and let Dimension know that they would have made a lot more money if they had given it a decent release -- would be to get out and see it. Bring your friends, family, strangers, anyone to give this film some money.
Talk about hitting the fast track home. Davis DVD just posted the DVD specs for Feast.
Feast will arrive home on October 17th with a digital anamorphic widescreen transfer, Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, and special features that include The Making of Feast featurette, deleted scenes, and of course the theatrical trailer.
More as it comes.
