*Updated!* Bidding War for Angelology
** UPDATE: Sony has won the bidding war. Rejoice!**
Ever heard the term “spiritual thriller”? I hadn’t either, but Variety used it today in their story about a new book called Angelology, the debut novel by Danielle Trussoni (pictured), which is in the midst of a bidding war between Sony, Warner Bros. and Universal that could last into the weekend.
How the hell does that happen in this day and age? I just don’t get how a book that doesn’t have any following can get so much interest so fast these days when there are so many excellent books that need movie deals just sitting out there. Frustrating.
Anyway, the book is about an angelologist (?) who teams with a nun to try and stop a race of Nephilm (angel/human hybrids) out to destroy the human race. Yep, sounds pretty spiritual and pretty thrilling to me! The trades say it’s a cross between The DaVinci Code and National Treasure, but with an obvious supernatural edge.
We’ll keep an eye on this and bring more as we hear it!

Really hope they come up with a better name for the movie...'cause Angelology sucks...

Instead of this, I'll be watching the new series about hunting oblong seriel killer shapes... It's called "Angleology"!

How smart could this story be if the best title the author could come up with was "Angelology"?
