UPDATE: Original Bloody Valentine on DVD
UPDATE: STYD updated the My Bloody Valentine DVD news today with a list of special features that may just change the name of some naysayers.
According to the new info, this special edition release of the original flick will include "never-before-seen lost footage, a featurette examining the back history of the making of the film and the Ultimate Slasher interactive guide that allows the user to delve into the evolution of the slasher film/horror genre."
As usual, a Hollywood remake is ready to please fans of the original ... by releasing a new DVD. What? You actually thought we would admit that a remake may be good? Pish.
STYD received the artwork for special edition release of George Mihalka's My Bloody Valentine. Sadly, the special features are still up in the air, but a commentary track with George Mihalka probably isn't out of the realm of reality. Then again, a bare bones DVD with this kind of DVD cover could make for an easy sell during the January slump.
With the remake splattering into theatres in 3D on January 16th, the odds are good that the DVD will hit store shelves a few days before that.

Ridley Scott, the man who jerked many of us into the horror genre with space truckers and xenomorphs, may be eyeing another murderous creature for a future film.

I think an uncut Valentine will appear when The Keep is released to DVD. In other words, never.

If it's not uncut, then I'm not interested in buying. Renting, maybe. But definitely not a buy.
Let's hope Paramount gets it right.

I hope to hell this is uncut.
And I can't imagine this would be bare bones, as it IS being called a special edition.
Of course, they could release it with a shitty making-of on the remake and call that a special edition, i suppose.

I wouldn't hold my breath for the uncut version. I really don't believe it exists. Horrible cover art btw ...

Well, I'm holding out hope, because I know I've read somewhere that the cut footage IS still around, according to the producer, so until I know otherwise, I'm gonna keep hoping and praying.
Well, I won't be praying, but I will be hoping.
