*UPDATE* New AVP Pic & Trailer
UPDATE: Maybe there is a God after all...
After Paul Anderson brutally raped of my inner fanboy, the red-band trailer for Aliens vs Predator: Requiem has emerged onto IGN and seems to have done the impossible: It's erased all those painful memories in a jaw-dropping two minute reel.
This looks like the back-to-basics blood-drenched smackdown we've all been craving. The monsters look great, the visuals are slick, and the kills are abso-fucking-lutely insane! This is one of the year's coolest trailers, hands down!
Of course, I'll remain skeptical until I see this film, but it's pretty clear that the Strause Brothers have a far greater understanding of these two franchises. If the end product is even half as cool as this trailer, color me one happy fan.
When it comes to Fox and Aliens Vs. Predator: Requiem, I feel like an abused puppy cautiously creeping to a dog bone in the master's hand; I don't know if I'm gonna get a treat or repeatedly kicked in the face again.
IGN landed the first official still from the flick of a Predator taking on a Pred-Alien hybrid, and I'll be damned if it isn't badass. This pic alone contains more atmosphere and skill than any single frame of Paul "Hack" Anderson's original abomination.
But the real indication will be the trailer, which according to AVP Galaxy might hit the Internet as early as tomorrow.
Rest assured, we'll chime in with our thoughts the second it hits!
Hope you at least get bitten by an alien instead of a dog in the Dread Central forums!
