Two-Week Break for Dollhouse

Fran Kranz of DollhouseWe told you a few weeks ago about Joss Whedon’s plan to film a new pilot for his upcoming TV show “Dollhouse” and then air the old one as the second episode, which seemed a bit strange in and of itself. Now word has come down via ZAP2it.com that production is shutting down on the series for two weeks.

Not to worry though; it’s just so Whedon can “regroup” a bit and “reexamine” the show’s direction. Apparently his directing duties on two of the three episodes already filmed have interfered with his writing gig. According to one of 20th Century Fox’s representatives, “We have every confidence that [the extra time] will allow Joss to make the show the best it can possibly be. It’s very rare that you have a head writer who is also directing two episodes in a row. But we are happy that Joss is directing, because this is his vision.

So far no one is expecting this to delay the mid-season debut of “Dollhouse”, but keep it here for all the latest.
