Twisted Gets Tortured

When you hear that Twisted Pictures, the production house behind the Saw films, is ramping up production on a new movie called Tortured, those of you who, like me, are getting sick of the “torture porn” subgenre already might feel your eyes begin to roll.
But stay with me because although it sounds like it’d be Saw to the next level, Tortured is being described by Variety as a psychological revenge thriller. With me still? The story is about a well-to-do couple whose lives are shattered when their only child is kidnapped by a pedophile and all they can think of is revenge. Hey, if there’s going to be some torture in a movie called Tortured, at least we can hope it’s directed at said pedophile; I’m thinking he’ll be getting the Sympathy for Lady Vengeance treatment if all goes well.
Tortured will be directed by Fire in the Sky helmer Rob Lieberman, making this the first genre film he’s been behind since D3: The Mighty Ducks, speaking of torture.
Twisted just began production on Saw IV, with the crew ready to move on to Tortured after that before tackling Saw II-IV director Darren Lynn Bousman’s Repo! The Genetic Opera. Now that’s one I can’t wait to see!
