It looks like another young readers series is about to hit the silver screen. This time, let’s hope the filmmakers don’t go all Underworld on us … like what happened to a certain werewolf book.
Variety is reporting that Stephenie Meyer’s series about a young girl and a group of young vampires has been chosen for a big screen adaption by Maverick Films starting with the first book of the series, Twilight. Casting and other news about the production is still in the shadows.
Twilight‘s story centers around a girl named Bella Swan who begins to suspect that one of her classmates, Edward Cullen, is in fact a supernatural being. The two fall in love, but their relationship is threatened when a new vampire family comes to disrupt the established coven.
