Turner Clarifies Stone House

Henry Thomas in Alex Turner's Dead Birds Earlier this week it was reported that Alex Turner was working on a sequel/prequel to his Henry Thomas-starrer war horror film Dead Birds called The Stone House. STYD caught up with the director to find out more about the project, and learned that, in fact, House will serve as a companion piece to Birds, not any kind of follow-up or precursor, likened to how Devil's Backbone and Pan's Labyrinth work off one another.

Though the biggest complaint leveled against Dead Birds was it’s pace and unclear resolution, Turner told the site that The Stone House is much more "in-your-face and has more action."

No plot was revealed, but Turner did let it be known that the film will take place in Afghanistan in 2003, during the beginnings of the US-lead issues there, though a majority of it won’t actually be filmed there. Which is to say that some will, and that’s just scary in this day and age if you ask me!
