Tribeca Horror '07: Rise: Blood Hunter
With the Tribeca Film Festival gearing up in New York City, there's a lot more than spring in the hazy Tri-State air! This time it’s the living undead again. Or are they the unliving dead? Whatever, they’re vampires and Lucy Liu is one of them so what more do you need to know?
As we told you about in our coverage of the horror helpings of the Tribeca Film Festival, this year's festival will serve as the premiere of Rise: Blood Hunter, which stars Lucy Lie and Michael (“The Shield”) Chiklis. The film was produced by Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures, so it’s definitely the most “mainstream” of this year’s horror lineup. Here’s some official plot for you:
"Reporter Sadie Blake (Lucy Liu) awakens in a morgue and realizes she is no longer human. Trying to resist the thirst for blood, she vows to hunt down the sect responsible for her situation and kill the vampire that changed her. Chock full of action, this slayer flick is sure to thrill. With Michael Chiklis. A Destination Films/Samuel Goldwyn Release." Click here for the Rise: Blood Hunter trailer!
Does it seem odd that Ghost House would give such a cool sounding film with such big names a festival start? Maybe a little, but what better way to see it before its inevitable release? Check out when you can catch Rise: Blood Hunter at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival!
