The Music of Snakes on a Plane

Figures that any kind of official theme song for Snakes on a Plane, quite possibly the most ridiculously over hyped film ever made due to its title and outspoken star Samuel L. Jackson, would be a bit whiny.

Said song, “Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)”, is now in video form over at YouTube, so be sure to check it out, if for no other reason than to hear Sam bitching about the motherfucking snakes on the motherfucking plane at the beginning. The song is performed by Cobra Starship, which is not the latest incarnation of Jefferson Starship sadly (they really did build this city on rock and roll, dammit, I saw it…), but rather a meeting of Midtown lead Gabe Saporta, Maja Ivarssen from the Sounds, William Beckett from the Academy Is…, and Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes to form a sort of super group. Or something.

Anyway, “Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)” is only one of many soon-to-be classics that will be featured on Snakes on a Plane: The Album, due out in stores on August 15th. Remixes of songs by Panic! at the Disco, The Academy Is…, and The Bronx are some of the others featured on this disc, which you can pre-order via Evilshop right here.

Snakes on a Plane, the movie, hits theaters August 18th and will likely make more money than Titanic thanks to the massive amounts of pre-release hype, which I understand we just helped contribute to. Go us!
