The Fury Next on the Remake Block

The Fury being remade now...First Sisters, now The Fury. Brian DePalma’s early work seem ripe for re-imagining (oh, God I hate that word) in today’s Hollywood. But at least they were smart with Sisters and got Doug Buck behind it. How much do you wanna bet the same doesn’t happen with The Fury?

Variety got word that Fox 2000 has brought on Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman to pen an updated version of the 1978 supernatural horror film, about a man who uses his amazing parapsychologic abilities to get revenge on the government agency that purposefully killed his son.

As for some history, screenwriters McGreevy & Shipman have only penned Of Every Wickedness, about America’s first known serial killer, which is apparently one of those amazing scripts that will never be made for reasons we can only begin to fathom. They got the gig for The Fury based on word-of-mouth for Wickedness, so here’s hoping they’re up to walking in John Farris’ shoes, who wrote both the Fury book and screenplay.

Keep it here for more Fury news as we get it!
